Q: What is IRM and what do you do?
A: International Reputation
Management is a public relations firm that specializes in
managing your online reputation and image. We do it by
maximizing your strengths and minimizing your weaknesses on
the web—we mitigate any negative stories out there about you
or your organization.
When people "Google" you,
the results which appear create a de facto profile of you.
The top results may or may not accurately reflect you or
your accomplish-ments, but those results are what the world
will see. What we do is direct the spotlight of the web onto the content our clients find most relevant and beneficial
to them. Simply because you are accomplished in
your field does not necessarily translate into your
professional visibility online, i.e. being "Googleable."
Q: There is negative information posted
about me or my organization. Can you please remove this?
A: While we do help people remove content from the
web, keep in mind that website owners are under no
obligation to delete information that is posted on their
own website. They may be protected under freedom of speech laws, the website may be hosted
in a foreign country, or the owner of the website may be unreachable. Rather than
relying on asking someone
to remove negative content, you
should use this as an opportunity to 1.) Take a step back and
determine what it is you want to be known for (that's food
for thought!), and 2.) Decide whether or not you are ready to
pro-actively establish and maintain your online profile
(this is where we step in).
Q: What are the benefits of retaining IRM?
A: What we do for our clients is
improve their online reputation and actively manage their
profile by highlighting strengths and minimizing weaknesses. Once IRM has helped to establish a
stronger profile for you or your company, we then continuously monitor any new
appearances on the web and address items as they
arise.
Q: Who are your clients and what type of
new clients do you accept?
A: We maintain very strict codes of confidentiality
about our clients' identities and are very selective on who we
chose to represent—we take a personal interest in how our clients are
perceived on the Internet.
Some of our clientele include: corporate executives,
nonprofit groups, attorneys, small business owners, Hollywood actors, TV
personalities, lobbyists, elected officials and others who
want to manage their reputation on the world wide web.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Our rates are consistent with standard PR firm
engagements—ranging from several hundred dollars per month
to several thousand per month depending on the engagement.
